Three posts in one night??? Yes, now you know how I spend my Saturday nights 🙂 Last weekend we took a trip down south to Disneyland. Here are just a few snapshots I had to share:
The first attraction was meeting the Princesses. We were literally the first people in line. And what else would you wear to such a royal occasion than your very own princess gown? Without direction, Eden waved to all the other peasants in line.
London was thrilled to meet her favorite Princess, Cinderella. Eden played it very cool, walking past her without so much as a handshake.
I love this picture–it makes me happy. I look at it and realize that my girls are not just siblings. They’re becoming friends. We decided on our way home that this picture would become a favorite for years to come.
If the highlight for London was princesses, the highlight for Eden was riding the rides–just look at the sheer joy on this child’s face!
We let London choose a souvenir for her birthday. She picked out a Cinderella music box, with some princess rings to keep in it. She was so thrilled about that music box. When we got back to the hotel, she carefully counted her rings, placed them inside, wound it up, and listened to it over and over again. I remember having a “special box” as a child where I kept all of my special things–for me it was a red lunchbox from a McDonald’s happy meal. Whatever the vessel, I think it’s almost instinctual for children to want to collect the things that are meaningful to them. It was neat for us as parents to watch her feel so sentimental about it. At such a young age, I don’t think she quite gets the concept of symbols, but I think having that music box is a way for her to remember what that special day meant for us as a family. I love this picture that captured that moment. She took it to bed with her and went to sleep listening to it.
